Description:

y counselling is based on a Humanistic-Existential approach, which recognises that we all need to find our own meaning and path in life. I focus on helping you develop your self-awareness, to understand how you relate to yourself and the world around you. I work flexibly with the needs of the individual client, integrating appropriately from other counselling approaches; principally Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. I will work with you to identify your strengths, challenge unhelpful thinking cycles, and utilise your inner resources to develop new coping strategies and move forward in a more positive direction. I find the use of imagery powerful in helping you understand your emotions and find a way forward; as a unique image can bring a tangibility and fresh way of viewing that emotion, helping you to find a new understanding, and different way to approach your difficulties, and relate to the world and others more positively.
Each client is, of course, unique, and it is important that I acknowledge and work with the diversity within the counselling relationship, as I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental, trusting therapeutic space. We will work collaboratively to help you express yourselves fully, and reflect on and explore your issues.
Working online, I want to be able to work with you in a way that suits you. So I counsel via email (I suggest a maximum of 600 words), live chat, or video. For live chat and video I use https://vsee.com/as it has a high level of confidentiality. For email I use https://www.hushmail.com/

I see the first session as an opportunity for you to get to know me, and judge whether you feel I am understanding you, and that you feel comfortable with me.
